Applied Systems Thinking
Course Description
This course aims to equip students with a systems approach to addressing complex, interconnected environmental challenges, sometimes defined as 'wicked problems.' Such challenges involve multiple stakeholders with conflicting interests, display a resistance to easy solutions, and feature underlying causes that are deeply rooted in social, political, economic, and ecological systems. By applying systems thinking to their own choice of topics, students in this course will critically analyze the relevant research and explore innovative approaches to addressing such problems while considering ethical implications, practical applicability, and sustainability principles.
