This course is designed to develop financial competency for educational leaders in budgeting and managing school and organizational funding. Educators will focus on fundamental principles and techniques of education finance by examining sources of revenue on federal, state, and local levels to sustain high-performing learning communities. Finance theory and practice; historical developments in education funding; present sources of revenue and methods of allocating funds; current problems in funding schools, and the financing of education as a social issue will be examined. This course will meet the requirement for PK-12 school finance for Administrator certification, as well as supporting non-certification sustainable leadership requirements.
