Course Description
This course explores leadership and management concepts within a wide range of organizations, including entrepreneurial ventures, nonprofits, educational institutions, public enterprises, family businesses, cooperatives, B-Corps, and more. The focus is on leadership in organizations that prioritize positive environmental and social impact as sources of identity, differentiation, and competitive advantage. You will be introduced to frameworks supporting the integration of non-shareholder stakeholder interests and environmental and social performance, including Shared Value, Stakeholder Theory of Organizations, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Stewardship Theory. Special attention is given to the role of leaders as agents of cultural change and innovation across diverse organizational contexts. Prerequisite: Open to graduate students or by instructor permission.
