Group Process for Adventure Educators

Course Description

What are the tools, methods, and values that drive an effective and inclusive group process in adventure education? As an adventure educator, what shapes my approach to fostering and facilitating group dynamics in various outdoor educational settings? Within the experiential and adventure education framework, learners will read about, discuss, and practice skills such as group facilitation and conflict resolution, inclusive community building, equitable student and participant support, and facilitation of group development. Through expeditionary experiences, outdoor initiatives, and experiential activities, this course will be structured to support student's professional outdoor leadership development.SPECIAL NOTES: PREREQUISITE: ORI26002: Orientation: Desert Mountain & Canyon Expedition.
